Stuart Dunlop
Stuart Dunlop trained in conducting at the Royal Academy of Music, in the Czech Republic, and at Aspen Music School in Colorado. His teachers included Sir Colin Davis, Colin Metters, Lawrence Foster, Murry Sidlin and Robert Spano. His work in the USA and Europe has included Los Angeles Master Chorale, City of Birmingham Symphony Chorus, Ulster Orchestra and Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic.
As well as symphony and choral repertoire, his interests include British contemporary music, working with composers such as Sir Harrison Birtwistle, Judith Weir and John Woolrich, and classical period performance with the London Classical Players and the Hanover Band.
Stuart has considerable experience with young musicians, having conducted, mentored and taught at the universities of Warwick and Reading for nearly twenty years. Stuart has a strong conviction that making music in a community is a vital activity, one which will sustain the health of both the music and the community. He is proud to be conductor of Eynsham Choral Society.
